Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them - Movie Review...

What is all the hype about? Is this movie really as good as Harry Potter, have a look at my thoughts below, let me know what you think in the comments below :)

Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them
Release Date: 18/11/2-16
Budget: $180,000,000 (Estimated)

"We're going to recapture my creatures before they get hurt. They're currently in alien terrain surrounded by millions of the most vicious creatures on the planet; humans".

So I like it, I like it quite a bit, do I love it? I'm struggling to answer that with a yes, it is good and I know I'm super critical of movies recently but I'll tell you why later on...

The Movie focuses around Newt Scamander (Eddie Redmayne) a young English Wizard who visits New York whilst en route to Arizona. He has a mysterious suitcase full of weird and wonderful creatures, from a stick insect with a heart of gold to a cute gold munching monster (which happens to be my favourite creature). Newts suitcase ends up in the hands of a No-Maj (A non-wizard) who is on his way to the bank to secure a loan for his new bakery business. Little to his knowledge that he has unlocked a dangerous amount of terrifying creatures into the wild.

Newt gets arrested for being an unregistered wizard, will he have the time to catch his creatures and return them to safety?

Although the creatures are a little cheesy for a better word, the concept behind each of their behaviours and characteristics adds a sense of emotion to the movie, simply put you fall in love with them, and don't want anything to come between Newt and his creatures.

The movie itself is full of suspense but has too many side characters/extras for my liking, it is also set in the 1920's, and movies set in this era just annoy me, I don't know why and I don't really have a reason, but this movie seems way beyond its setting and in my opinion has a more futuristic feel, it may just be the magic who knows.

Now this movie is meant to be standalone from Harry Potter, but it has been way overhyped in my opinion, there are only very few references to HP and it doesn't have the same feel to it. This movie is awesome in its own right, but when compared to Harry Potter it lacks somewhat.

However, we seem to be falling back into the world of Witchcraft and Wizardry and that can only be a good thing. I would anticipate maybe a sequel or two to this movie, and I'd be going to see them on release day.

Further Plot/Storyline:

"Holding a mysterious leather suitcase in his hand, Newt Scamander, a young activist wizard from England, visits New York while he is on his way to Arizona. Inside his expanding suitcase hides a wide array of diverse, magical creatures that exist among us, ranging from tiny, twig-like ones, to majestic and humongous ones. It is the middle of the 20s and times are troubled since the already fragile equilibrium of secrecy between the unseen world of wizards and the ordinary or "No-Maj" people that the MACUSA Congress struggles to maintain, is at risk of being unsettled".

Funday Monday #5...

So it's the return of #FundayMonday lol! I will try and keep these game or movie related, but that's not always possible, as I'll just share whatever's funny...

This is so true! I loathe assists, especially when you do all the hard work for it be taken away from you...

Enjoy your Monday! ;)

My New Geeky Hobby...

So previously I used to collect Lootcrate, but quickly realised that the thing I loved from them the most were Pop Vinyls!

I'm not sure what my obsession with them are, but they are just so eye-catchingly awesome to look at. It started off that I got some from my girlfriend for Christmas (A giant Baymax, Rose Tyler, Tenth Doctor and a Stormtrooper) and ever since then I just fell in love with the concept of them, the design of them, and loved the fact that they were related to movies, and TV shows, even stuff like Power Rangers and Ninja Turtles that I grew up with!

So I started buying Pops as I went, normally with supermarket shopping, as most are about £10, unless you're looking to get big Pops, or special Pops etc. The 6" Pops are around £15-£20 but take up a lot more shelf space, I'd say around the size of about 3 normal Pop boxes, but they make the collection stand out and look awesome wherever they are.

I have around 25 Pops now, which I have built up since Christmas and steadily increasing that figure each month. I have a subscription to Popinabox which comes to £25.17 a month, they send me 3 random pops each and every month, and it's a massive surprise what comes through the door. There is something called a Pop Tracker, where you can add which Pops you have in your collection, and add Pops you would like to your collection, but they do not always send them from your list. If you're interested in more information or want to sign up, have a look at my affiliate link below :) (If you make a purchase, it will also help me earn a free Pop, and I'll be forever in your debt)

>>More Information Here<<

There are many different crates or subscription boxes that you can get Pops in, but this one is a specific Pop related one, so you won't get any other tat, or anything you don't particularly want, because lets face it, it's annoying when you get something like a duplicate comic book, or a duplicate whatever, so this avoids that, straight up Pops at prices that I personally think are unbeatable.

So I think it's about time I showed you my current Pop collection, it's not the biggest or the best, but is still pretty damn awesome sauce!

Sometimes blogger does not render pictures very well so here's a list of the ones I currently have :)

1. 6" Baymax - Big Hero 6 (111)
2. 6" Davros - Doctor Who (359)
3. Leonardo - Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (63)

16. Darth Vader - Star Wars Rogue One (143)
17. Chirrut Inwe - Star Wars Rogue One (140)
18. Imperial Death Trooper - Star Wars Rogue One (144)
19. Kylo Ren - Star Wars (60)
20. First Order Stormtrooper - Star Wars (66)
21. Karl Mordo - Doctor Strange (This is a random one as never actually seen this movie) (170)

There are some new Pops that are coming out in April and May that I am excited to get as well! And some Pops that are out right now here's a few of what I'm looking at buying within the next few months.

1. Stranger Things Pops (Would seriously recommend watching this on Netflix, new series comes out on Halloween too, get caught up man). Included in this Set:

A). Barb
B). Dustin
C). Will
D). Eleven with eggos
E). Mike
F). Lucas
G). Demogorgon

2. The new Overwatch Pops, these look soooooooo sooooo good, some big exclusive 6" Pops are in this collection as well! The Pops that come in this collection are as follows:

A). 6" D.V.A with Mecha
B). 6" Reinhardt
C). Mei
D). McCree
E). Lucio
F). Symmentra with mini Turret

3. I think these Pops are my favourite upcoming release because they are so cute! Cute and from a classic Disney film. Though the title is very hard to say when drunk - Ratatouille. These pops are included.

A). Emile with cheese - how cute, please?
B). Alfredo Linguini
C). Remy (look at his little chef's hat man)

I could probably go on for days and days about which Pops I want, or what ones look amazing, but I wouldn't have enough time to go on and on and on! But I'm going to be sharing the Pops I get each month from Popinabox, and also any Pops that come out that float my boat!

If you're new the Pop Vinyl world (like me) or a Pop noob, the thing that had me guessing for ages, was just what are the numbers for on the top right corner of each box, is it a model number? Is it a collection number? Turns out it identifies a specific mould that has been used to create it, hence why some of my Pops have the same number, baffling but makes sense! Another cool thing is that every time a new batch of Pops is shipped it includes a 'flocked' or a 'chase' this is the same Pop, but a different variation to the rest, it could be a different hair colour, different outfit or a different anything really, these Pops are obviously more valuable as they are rarer than just the mass-produced standard Pops.

Anyway, I think I've rambled on for far too long, hope you've enjoyed my post in relation to my Pops,  if you're interested in getting 20% off your first Pop order from Popinabox, then use the link above, this will also help me towards getting some free Pops! And that would be awesome!

I'll see you in the next one.

Passengers - Movie Review...

So I thought I'd start doing movie reviews again, just because it's something that I really enjoy doing! P.S. I hope you like the schnazzy new logo at the top :D

As always the views are my own, and for my (and hopefully your) entertainment only. I am not some amazing movie critic, but you'll get a down-to-earth honest opinion/review of the movie! :)

Passengers
Release Date - 21/12/2016
Estimated Budget: $110,000,000

"Nothing happens by accident"

It's hard to talk a lot about this movie without giving the main plot away. The first thing I will say is
Source: http://www.imdb.com
that this is definitely worth a watch. Jennifer Lawrence (Hunger Games) and Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy) are the main stars in this gravity defying blockbuster. The movie is set aboard the Starship Avalon which is en route and in the middle of a 120 year voyage to a new colony far far away in the distant galaxy, where a new life can be made, and a whole civilization can be created.

Unfortunately not all goes to plan, and one passenger - Jim Preston (Pratt) is awoken 90 years early, with no way of return. Jim has to fight his way through obstacles and challenges to keep the Starship Avalon on course, and prevent it from crashing and destroying the 5000+ passengers on board. This movie has everything you want from a good action packed movie. There are no boring bits, and you will be glued to every scene. There are some pretty amazing dramatic scenes that will have you gasping for air (tiny little spoiler).

My favourite character in the movie is actually a bar tender/human android named Arthur played by Michael Sheen (Twilight), his sassy on-screen character and charming conversations make for a little bit of hilarity, sometimes a little bit uneasy considering you are stranded alone on a spaceship, knowing that you are 90 years away from landing. Seems pretty final, doesn't it?

The only thing that lets this movie down in my opinion is the ending, unfortunately it does not leave you in suspense, and there's no way there's any chance of a sequel being made, unless they focus on the back story or the time before the '50 years later' ending! It sucks that they have a left a huge chunk of the movie out, massively disappointing for a film of such a high standard, but I guess you can't have everything, and is sadly the reason it has lost so many stars from me.

Further Storyline (Source: IMDb)

"The spaceship, Starship Avalon, in its 120-year voyage to a distant colony planet known as the "Homestead Colony" and transporting 5,258 people has a malfunction in one of its sleep chambers. As a result one hibernation pod opens prematurely and the one person that awakes, Jim Preston (Chris Pratt) is stranded on the spaceship, still 90 years from his destination".

Hello World #5

So thing's with work didn't turn out as expected. I guess dealing with rejection is something I really struggle with, who knew? It's a learning curve to say the least, and all I can do is move onward and upwards... No looking back, keep focused, keep strong!

I'm going to be getting back into the swing of normal blogging soon, starting with a new (well relatively new) movie review which is coming to you tomorrow, any +1's, comments and shares would be greatly appreciated.

Hello World #4...

So I know it's been a while, too long in fact, and a few things like my blog and my YouTube channel has been neglected.

My life has been crazy over the past few months, just thinking about it all, circling the thoughts in my head, it just sounds like a movie script. This year I have made some amazing new memories, new friends and new beginnings, but I've also lost some friends along the way, friends which meant a lot to me, but looking back, I'm struggling to see what positive impact they had on my life! That sounds selfish and it sounds awful, but realistically I have would have went to the end of the Earth for them, and they wouldn't do the same in return. I may have lost them as a friend, but there are still fond memories that won't fade of our friendship. Who knows maybe one day, everyone will get a long again and be friends. HA! wishful thinking.

I am currently building a new life, to better myself and the people I care about the most. I am slowly but surely becoming successful at work, and leaving my mark in a big way! I can't wait for where that will take me and I'm excited for that to pan out, fingers crossed for some good news for me tomorrow ;)

I have also found someone who I have fallen in love with, surprising at first, and I still look at this now and think, how did that happen, this wasn't supposed to happen. However it has done, and I'm happy, it has taken me time to develop that relationship, which is part of the reason I have neglected you, I'm sorry for that! It is difficult juggling falling in love with the rest of life, everything seems to go a lot slower around you, and you don't really have the time to do much else.

However, I will be back and I will be better than ever, and looking to rekindle some old bromances, and getting to collaborate with my favourite YouTube friends, who are utterly legends!

I must apologise for the sickly sweet post, I needed to get some thoughts off my chest, and let you know that I will be back, doing YouTube, blogging as well as starting up the new podcast with the better half ;)

Fuck negativity, and let's get this show on the road! ;)
